STEM Creativity and Research

The primary goal of the STEM Creativity and Research Program is to empower and support today’s STEM students while strengthening and enhancing their creativity thinking skills and to develop new research based skills.

Throughout the course of the semester we will have three strand meetings lasting for two hours each:

  • February 25th, 2018
    • Creative Thinking (re)-Development
  • March 25th, 2018
    • Scientific Application of Creative Thinking Development
  • April 28th, 2018
    • Critical Thinking and Design

Primarily our sessions will focus on Educational Development, Creative Thinking Development, and Critical Thinking Development. We will be engaging in several academic activities, several presentations over implementing creativity within your chosen field, basic research skills, creativity activities (slime making, creative explosions, etc.), personality and creativity development, how to get into research (advice from current undergraduate researchers and faculty), and how to fully utilize your support system.

At the end of the semester we will finish off with an end of the year project: An Egg Drop Competition- students will compete for the Humpty Dumpty Award, Eggelicious (Most creative) Award, and the Eggonomical (Most Scientific-Research) Award.  Each student will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the program.
